About GreekNerds
GreekNerds is a free, student-driven platform for honest Greek life rankings and reviews. We provide a space for current members, alumni, and prospective new members to share authentic experiences and help others make informed decisions about one of the most consequential choices of their college years.
Our Mission
We believe that prospective new members — especially those who are first-generation college students, who are new to a campus, or who simply don’t have an older sibling or family friend to ask — deserve access to transparent, unbiased information about Greek life at universities across the country. That’s what GreekNerds exists to provide.
We are not advocates for or against Greek life. We do not have a position on whether any particular person should join a fraternity or sorority. Our mission is simply to make honest, student-sourced information accessible to everyone — not just to those with insider connections.
How Rankings Work
Every ranking on GreekNerds is a mathematical aggregation of user-submitted reviews. When a reviewer submits a review, they rate a chapter across six categories:
- Social Life
- Academics
- Brotherhood / Sisterhood
- Philanthropy & Service
- Inclusivity
- Value for Cost
A chapter’s overall score is the average of its category scores across all approved reviews. Category scores are displayed individually so you can evaluate what matters most to you.
GreekNerds does not write, edit, or influence reviews. We do not have editorial opinions about individual chapters. Our moderation team reviews content only to enforce the Community Guidelines — to remove content that names individuals, contains hate speech, or otherwise violates our rules. We do not remove reviews because a chapter or organization objects to the score.
A chapter must have at least three approved reviews to appear in ranked lists. This threshold exists to ensure that a single review — which could be an outlier in either direction — does not determine a chapter’s public ranking.
Who We Are
GreekNerds is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with any national Greek organization, university, Panhellenic association, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, or Multicultural Greek Council. We do not receive funding from or have business relationships with any Greek organization.
We are a small, volunteer-operated team. Response times to support requests may vary as a result.
Free Public Beta
GreekNerds is currently in free public beta. The platform is non-commercial with no advertising. There is no cost to create an account, browse rankings, or submit reviews. We have no current plans to charge for access to core platform features.
Rush Guide
In addition to rankings, GreekNerds publishes a free Rush Guide with practical articles to help you navigate the recruitment process — from understanding the difference between formal and informal recruitment to knowing what questions to ask during rush. All articles are written to inform, not to promote Greek life or any particular organization.
